Starbucks testing a Gold Card additions in Denver, Vancouver
Denver and Vancouver, Canada are part of a test program called Starbucks Gold Card. Why those 2 cities, I have no idea. The program will give registered customers a free birthday drink, as well as discounts to friends and family that join them for a beverage and a members-only website. Selection appears to be based on registered user’s frequency of card usage.
It’s an interesting idea; further reward your best customers and look to them to build store traffic and sales. But does Starbucks need to further impress the general public that it is somewhat an elitist?
